Israel may see a 'national unity government' replace Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Benjamin Netanyahu’s era as Israel’s prime minister could be coming to an end as far-right party leader Naftali Bennett is “siding with a new opposition coalition,” according to Sky News contributor Michael Ware. “The leader of a small right-wing party, who used to be a senior aide to the current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, made his long-awaited announcement about what move he would make in this process to form a new government,” he told Sky News. Mr Ware said the coalition was made up of centrist, leftist, and Arab political parties who only hold “their opposition to Netanyahu”. “The reason he says he’s done this is that he believes the country has no other choice, he says it’s either a coalition government or a national unity government or more elections, and that would make it the fifth round of elections in over two years,” he said.
