'Unusual move' by Pezzullo to declare drums of war beating
Labor Senator Kristina Keneally said it was an unusual move by Home Affairs Secretary Mike Pezzullo to say the drums of war are beating. Mr Pezzullo wrote a message to the Home Affairs Department for Anzac Day in which he warned the global “drums of war” are beating and Australia should prepare itself for a possible conflict. “Words matter and when it comes to reflections on matters of defence, foreign policy and war – all of us need to consider our words carefully,” Ms Keneally told Sky News. “Mindful that they will have impacts beyond the intended audience.”
