Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says while many talked about the “sky falling in” when JobKeeper came to an end, early data is providing a far more positive report. The treasurer went on to tout his government’s credentials in financial management pointing out before the coronavirus the Liberals “delivered the first balanced budget in 11 years”. “What we did do before COVID hit is we got the welfare dependency down to a 30-year low and that helped drive a better budget outcome,” he said.
