Two new cases linked to Princess Alexandra hospital cluster
Chief Health Officer Dr Jeanette Young says contact tracers have already linked the two new locally acquired cases identified overnight in Queensland to the Princess Alexandra hospital cluster. One of the cases was a second nurse who worked in Brisbane at the Prince Alexandra hospital and the other case lives in the same household as the nurse. Ms Young said, “it's household transmission, and we know that household transmission is our highest risk at the start of any outbreak”. The first nurse identified in the cluster previously attended a party in Byron Bay with a group of friends - triggering a super-spreader event.
