NSW records zero new community infections
Premier Gladys Berejiklian has confirmed NSW recorded zero new community transmission cases overnight. She asked that residents in the four affected local government areas in Byron Bay respect the restrictions imposed by the state government until the end of Easter. “We are confident that won’t really prevent businesses from staying open, it won’t prevent people from doing what they would normally do,” she said. Asked about the economic impact of the restrictions on the four shires, Ms Berejiklian responded local tourism numbers were up “during some parts of the year when they wouldn’t be welcoming tourists” due to interstate border closures. The premier also welcomed news from the Queensland government that Greater Brisbane will lift its lockdown today.
