Local pastor says activists guarding Floyd memorial are from out of town
Local Pastor Curtis Farrar says he believes the more confrontational protesters guarding the barricades at the crossroads where George Floyd died are not members of the local community. A memorial has been set up and an autonomous zone established by activists despite a local government push to reopen the space to traffic. The area has seen an increased number of shootings resulting in the death of one man, triggering a response from locals who said they don’t want police shut out from the area. Minnesota NAACP Vice President PJ Hill said minority businesses had lost 75 per cent of their revenue due to the reduced traffic caused by the barriers and fears over increased crime levels
