Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese says Labor’s virtual National Conference will celebrate “Australia’s oldest and greatest political party” and present a full sweep of policies ahead of the next federal election. Labor's National Conference will go virtual with hundreds of delegates dialing in to decide the party's policy platform at what is being touted as the biggest online political event in Australian history. Mr Albanese said the ALP was a “participatory party” which drew its strength from trade union affiliates and members. “People are participating all around the country,” he said, adding it has been the “right decision” to make the conference a virtual event. The full sweep of policies will be debated over the next two days as the Labor party celebrates 130 years of existence.
