‘Easter is good to go’: Greater Brisbane lockdown to be lifted from midday
Greater Brisbane will emerge from its snap three-day lockdown at midday today after the state recorded just one new community acquired case which health authorities have linked to one of the known clusters. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk emphatically thanked Queenslanders for coming forward for testing, confirming 34,711 tests were conducted overnight. “So that is good news for Queensland, and Easter is good to go,” she said. The premier flagged, however, some restrictions would remain in place across the state until April 15. State residents are being asked to wear face masks in indoor settings including shopping centres, indoor workplaces and public transport. Gatherings at homes will stay capped at 30 people, and patrons at hospitality venues will be required to remain seated. No dancing will be permitted in public venues and businesses must adhere to the two-square metre rule.
