Crowds gather in Canberra to celebrate RAAF centenary
The banks of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra are filled with people as the Royal Australian Air Force marks its proud centenary. More than 60 planes will fly over the thousands who have gathered to celebrate the RAAF’s modest beginnings on March 31, 1921 and remember the 11,191 Australian who have died in conflict. A new colour will also be presented to the service by the governor general on behalf of the Queen at Government House.
