'People want to gather, pay respects' on Anzac Day
Veterans Affairs Minister Darren Chester says the government will work with all states and territories to ensure as many people as possible can safely attend Anzac Day services. “What we need to do is we need to work with the state and territory governments and work with the RSLs, which run the Anzac Day ceremonies, and make sure that they can have as large gatherings as possible,” he told Sky News. “Because people want to gather, people want to pay their respects.” Mr Chester said it’s too early to definitively say what will happen in each jurisdiction due to health advice at the time.
