Government needs to make its training protocols surrounding vaccination ‘very clear’
Deputy Labor Leader Richard Marles says the government needs to make its training protocols for those administering COVID-19 vaccines ‘very clear’ to ensure the Queensland bungle is not repeated. A Queensland doctor was found not to have completed mandatory training for vaccine distribution before giving two aged care residents four times the recommended dose of the Pfizer jab - prompting a national review of all doctors and nurses involved in the Pfizer rollout. “It’s hard to understand how this mistake was made,” Mr Marles told Sky News. “Really the government needs to make very clear what its training protocols are, that they’re being followed, that these mistakes are not going to happen again. “I think what we’ve learnt over the course of the last 12 months is that managing this problem does really require very granular, minute attention to detail where there is zero tolerance for mistakes”.
