WA chief medical officer 'tied up and put in a safe' ahead of state election
Sky News host Chris Smith says as Western Australia's election approaches it looks as if Mark McGowan's chief medical officer has been “tied up and put in a safe somewhere”. “I’d love to see some of the journalists in WA actually scrutinise the science, because the science is not a 28-day locally community infection period,” he said. “That’s what Queensland has done and that’s what WA is trying to do, but the rest of the states and territories don’t operate that way.” Western Australia will fully reopen to Queensland and Victoria but self-quarantine measures will remain in place for travelers from New South Wales. From Monday Queensland will be considered a 'very low risk' state, under WA border controls and Victoria will make the same transition on Friday. New South Wales will remain a 'low risk' state after the hard border eased last Monday. Arrivals are subject to strict conditions, including 14 days of self-quarantine.
