McGowan 'has egg on his face' after criticising New South Wales
Deputy Premier John Barilaro says Mark McGowan has a “little bit of egg on his face” after he criticised the New South Wales model and said eradication was the best strategy. Greater Perth, the Peel region and the South West are all under a five-day lockdown after a security guard tested positive to the coronavirus. Under the new hard, lockdown there are only four reasons to leave one’s home which include essential shopping, medical or healthcare needs – including compassionate requirements – exercise for only one hour with one other person, and work if you cannot work at home. “Premier McGowan had no problem picking on New South Wales, our health system, criticising us, lecturing us how the West Australian model was the perfect model,” Mr Barilaro told Sky News. “I said at the time eradication wasn’t the model, suppression was.” “Of course, today they’re in a lockdown and Premier McGowan, a little bit of egg on his face. “I’m not here to lecture WA, but he (McGowan) was kind enough to lecture me.”
