Djokovic thanks health officials and police after exiting quarantine
World number one tennis champion Novak Djokovic has thanked police and health department officials for making the stay as good as possible after exiting hotel quarantine in Adelaide. Mr Djokovic said he enjoyed a walk in the park after he and other players had missed the freedom to move around while in isolation. The tennis champion previously received backlash after sending a list of six demands to Tennis Australia on behalf of over 70 Australian Open competitors who had been forced into a hard quarantine. The list included requests for better access to fitness and training in all rooms, better quality food and reduced isolation time. However, Mr Djokovic defended his requests against charges of ingratitude or selfishness saying they were motivated by a desire to help other Australian Open competitors.
