The EU will most likely be the 'biggest loser' in Brexit trade deal
Ultimately the European Union "relies on" the United Kingdom for information and security, and therefore are the "big losers" in the UK-EU trade deal. The British parliament is, on Wednesday (local time), expected to ratify the trade deal struck on Christmas Eve, only a week before the deadline. Conservative MP Andrew Bridgen dismissed claims the UK would suffer from the new trade agreement with the European Union on security and cyber-information. Mr Bridgen said the new deal ensures the UK will have "better control of our borders," but ultimately the EU relied on the flow of "information and security cooperation" from the UK. "Both in security and defence, we're the major power for European defence," he said. "We're the only member of the Five Eyes … and obviously that's the major source of anti-terrorist and security information, which on occasion we share with our European friends. "So the big losers on this are potentially the European Union not us."
