South Australia to reimpose hard border with New South Wales
Premier Steven Marshall has announced South Australia will reimpose a hard border with New South Wales as of 12:01am tonight. Mr Marshall said there will be few exceptions to the border closure. “Only South Australians retuning, people relocating permanently, or essential workers will be exempt from this arrangement and they will still … need to do 14 days of mandatory self-isolation," he said. “The other exemption from this situation is with regards to the cross-border communities and we will be putting a buffer zone in of 100 kilometres. “That will have the effect of both Wentworth and Broken Hill being exempt from these new tougher border restrictions”. Mr Marshall also said there will be a “transit arrangement exemption” for those who have to travel through NSW but will not stop in the state.
