Resident who lost home in bushfire touched by generosity
A Gippsland resident whose home was destroyed by bushfires this time last year has told Sky News about the generosity shown by the larger community and how he plans to defend against future fires. Buchan resident Donald Graham said despite the tragic fires, the generosity shown in the aftermath was just unbelievable. “A lot of wonderful things happened. A great deal of generosity from the world in general fell upon fire affected areas,” he said. “Unbelievable generosity from big organisations and individuals.” Mr Graham is currently living an hour away from the destroyed property and is planning on rebuilding an “earth house” on the location, which he says can’t and won’t burn should there be any fires in the future.
