NSW Police Commissioner warns residents police will be doorknocking over NYE
NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Mick Willing warned residents of New South Wales police would be doorknocking to ensure people abide by health orders over New Year’s Eve. New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian imposed tough New Year’s Eve restrictions on the state as the number of COVID cases in the state continues to increase. “The Police Operation Centre is currently up and running. We're in the process of standing up a number of forward commands across the metropolitan area and in regional New South Wales,” Mr Willing said. He added, large numbers of uniformed police would be enforcing public health orders by patrolling public areas and checking licensed premises across Sydney and regional New South Wales.
