NSW government reviewing restrictions around third Test match
NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant has confirmed the state government is reviewing COVID safe plans for the third Test match scheduled to go ahead at the Sydney Cricket Ground on January 7. Ms Chant was probed as to whether it was safe for thousands of people be allowed to attend the match given NSW recorded 18 new cases of community transmission overnight. She said steps were being taken to ensure face masks were worn on public transport surrounding the event. “Seated outdoors poses less risk than people perhaps gatherings in households to look at the Test,” she said. “This is balancing but we have got faith in the transport plan and the work that Sydney Cricket Ground has done.”
