Melburnians urged to limit movement on NYE
Victoria Emergency Services Minister Lisa Neville has urged state residents to adhere to coronavirus restrictions on New Year’s Eve to prevent any outbreaks undoing the hard work of all Victorians. She warned Thursday night celebrations will "be extremely different for everyone, and it needs to be." “We all do want to say goodbye to this year, we all do hope that 2021 is a better year that we’ve got ahead, but we don’t have a vaccine,” she told the media. “We still have risk in our community. “We have done the hard yards this year, we cannot risk the work that we have done this New Year’s Eve by gathering, by breaking the rules.” Ms Neville also confirmed there would be a heavy police presence rolled out across the state.
