Croydon and Wollongong cases linked to Avalon cluster
NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant has revealed genomic sequencing results show COVID-19 cases from Croydon and Wollongong are all linked to the Avalon cluster. It comes as the state recorded three new locally acquired cases overnight from 32,010 tests. The three new cases all originated in Western Sydney – one man in his 40’s, and two men in their 20’s. None of the new cases have been linked to the Avalon cluster, but they remain under investigation. Ms Chant asked residents from Western Sydney, particularly Greystanes, Auburn, Berala and Lidcombe to come forward for testing should even the mildest symptoms present themselves.
