Only Joe Biden has the 'courage' to say black lives matter: Kamala Harris
Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris says Donald Trump will “never use” the phrase Black Lives Matter, accusing the president of ignoring racial inequality in the United States. While Mr Trump has previously claimed he is the “least racist person anybody is going to meet,” Ms Harris argued there were systemically racist institutions across the nation which the Trump Administration had failed to reform. “We are in the midst of a long and overdue reckoning on the issue of racial injustice in America,” she said. “You have Joe Biden who knows and has learned and studied America’s history and has therefore the courage to say, ‘black lives matter,’ a term Donald Trump will never use,” she said. Senator Harris listed a number of top priority policies for the Biden Administration once elected including lifting the minimum wage, investing in union paying jobs, and legalising marijuana. Also on the campaign trail, President Trump accused the vice presidential nominee of being the “most liberal person in the Senate”. “She makes Bernie Sanders look like a serious conservative,” he said.
