Credlin speaks with families grieving older relatives claimed by Victoria's lockdown
Sky News host Peta Credlin has spoken to family members of aged care residents who died during Victoria’s severe coronavirus lockdown. Nicole McGuiness recounted saying goodbye to her mother Kathleen – who entered the Epping Gardens Aged Care facility in March – for the last time over a zoom call. “I remember when we disconnected from the zoom, I remember just sitting there going ‘oh my God, she looked terrible, what’s going on’,” she said. “I think in hindsight, for the nurses, they obviously knew how sick mum was and I think they did that for us.” The Epping Gardens facility became the site for Australia’s largest aged care outbreak, infecting more than 160 patients and staff. ‘Deadly Decisions: Victoria’s Hotel Quarantine Catastrophe’ premieres this Sunday at 8pm on Sky News on Foxtel, Sky News on WIN or listen live on Sky News Radio on iHeartRadio. The program will also be available on demand on SkyNews.com.au.
