Trump claims victory as commission looks to revise format for second debate
President Donald Trump claims he won the first presidential debate, despite numerous polls naming Democratic nominee Joe Biden the victor. “By every measure we won the debate easily last night,” the President said the following day. He went on to label Mr Biden’s performance as “very weak” while the Democratic nominee described Mr Trump as a “national embarrassment”. The Commission on Presidential Debates released a statement saying, “last night’s debate made clear that additional structure should be added to the format of the remaining debates to ensure a more orderly discussion of the issues”. The second restructured presidential debate will be held in Miami, Florida and the third and final debate in Nashville, Tennessee.
