Daniel Andrews' actions 'don't speak of consistency'
Restaurateur Chris Lucas says in Victoria "we're about to layoff 150,000 hospitality workers" as the city of Melbourne remains in the dark, with the streets still empty and the restaurants still shut. On Sunday the Premier announced the easing of a number of restrictions in the state which is set to see 127,000 workers return to work across a variety of industries. However, Mr Lucas told Sky News host Peta Credlin that in Victoria, 150,000 hospitality workers were about to be laid off. "The premier keeps on getting up and feeding us a number of lines hoping that we'll just sit back and accept his word," Mr Lucas said. "But his actions unfortunately don't speak of consistency here". Mr Lucas said "we've submitted a COVID-safe plan on multiple occasions" however "again we continue not to be listened to". "We are doing the work of the governments, we are providing our own roadmaps. "All we're asking for is some honesty here, we have put everything on the line. "This city is still in the dark, our streets are still empty and our restaurants are still shut."
