Andrews urges people not to compare Victoria with other states' historic COVID-19 caseloads
Premier Daniel Andrews says people need to look at Victoria's 14-day rolling average before making comparisons with other states' historic case numbers comparatively, and how much those states had reopened. "We're very close. We've got three weeks to go before we can take big steps," he said. "The notion of opening up with 16.4 cases per day in metropolitan Melbourne is not safe; it is not steady and it will not last. "The temptation always is to perhaps read more into it than is there. You've got to do it in a steady way." Meanwhile, Mr Andrews announced the Victorian government reached an agreement with the Commonwealth to secure regular testing with the state's private and public aged care workforce.
