Andrews unsure whether regional travel can resume under next step
Premier Daniel Andrews has failed to give a definitive answer on whether Melburnians will be allowed to travel to regional Victoria under the next step out of lockdown. When asked on whether it would be possible for travel to resume, Mr Andrews said it would depend on two conditions. “One, the detailed advice I get,” he said. “Two, the amount of virus that is in Melbourne, assuming we can take that next step, though. “I can’t say at this stage whether that ‘ring of steel’, as its been called, will just be thrown open and everybody can travel right throughout the state, that may not be a smart thing to do. “But that shouldn’t also be read to mean that for all of the second half of October and all of November that those rules would stay in place. “It might be a shorter period for instance."
