Rules being broken because Andrews 'set the standard'
Liberal MP Tim Wilson says Victorians aren’t taking the rules seriously because this is the standard Premier Daniel Andrews has set. Dozens of protesters took to the streets overnight in the outer Melbourne suburb of Broadmeadows to defy strict stay at home orders. Some of the groups stopped traffic while others carried flares and threw rocks, claiming to be outside for their permitted daily hour of exercise. “Earlier in the lockdown he allowed the Black Lives Matter protests to go forward,” Mr Wilson told Sky News. “And he didn’t stump on that and make it clear we were all taking a big hit for trying to contain the spread of COVID-19. “We understand since then there have been some outbreaks and so people unfortunately aren’t taking the rules seriously. “This is the standard he’s prepared to walk past.”
