Portland Mayor slams Trump for violent protests
Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler has accused Donald Trump of inciting violent protests in his city after a pro-Trump supporter was shot over the weekend. President Trump hit back, labelling Mr Wheeler a "fool" on Twitter and criticised him for not taking up the offer from the White House to send in the National Guard. There have been nightly protests in Portland since the death of George Floyd in May. Some of the protests have been peaceful, however rioting and looting have taken place. The comments come as Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden disavowed the unrest in Portland , saying he condemns the "violence unequivocally."
