New forecasts predict travel to recovery slower than expected
The International Air Travel Association has predicted the recovery of international travel to be slower than first expected. The group revised its original predictions, saying global passenger travel may not return to pre-pandemic levels until 2024 which was a year longer than was originally forecasted. Slow containment of the coronavirus in the United State and China as well as uncertainty over border re-openings were pinpointed as primary causes for the delay. Decreased corporate traffic and low consumer confidence were also identified as contributing factors.
