Economists optimistic about job retention despite lockdowns
KPMG Chief Economist Brendan Rynne says he suspects Victoria’s lockdown will be longer than originally planned, but remains optimistic about adaptability in businesses amid job loss. “A lot of restaurants started to adopt a different operating model," he said. “Instead of having 15 people working at a restaurant, they had six, and while that’s a significant job loss, it’s not 15.”
