Andrews 'must stop looking for scapegoats and admit fault'
Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says Daniel Andrews needs to stop looking for scapegoats to blame the state’s COVID-19 crisis on and admit fault. “Daniel Andrews keeps putting it onto the populous for not obeying the rules, not wearing masks, any other scapegoat, but he’s got to admit his system’s failed him,” he said. Mr Clennell said it was time the Victorian government introduced a harder lockdown because “they’re putting the whole nation, the whole national economy at risk”. “The great shame of it, is that it’s because of the Victorian government’s failures that they’re at that point.” Mr Clennell said reports it was taking nine or 10 days for people in regional Victoria to get their test results back were terrifying. “How can they trace their contacts, who they were in contact with when they contracted the virus, when they started showing symptoms, when they were spreading the thing, if it’s taking them 10 days to get their results back?” he said. “I mean what a failure, and that’s on top of the quarantine failure which let this thing out in the first place.”
