Sixty per cent of WA students return to classroom
Western Australia Education Minister Sue Ellery says she’s pleased with the number of students who have returned to the classroom as they reopen for term two. Sixty per cent of students attended classes across the state on Wednesday. Parents can choose to have their children remain at home, but Ms Ellery told Sky News year 11 and 12 students are strongly encouraged to attend. “From the beginning, I have encouraged people, and I encourage them now, to follow the health advice and that is there is no increased risk for students or staff by physically attending a school,” she said. Ms Ellery also welcomed the proposal from her federal counterpart Dan Tehan to provide advances on non-government school funding.
