Qld told to use 'common sense' when restrictions are eased at midnight
Queensland Chief Health Officer Dr Jeanette Young has urged residents to “use common sense” when restrictions are eased at midnight. “They need to look around and think ‘is this actually safe, have we got too many people here’ and if there are too many, go away and come back,” she said. Dr Young said there was a chance restrictions could be further eased, but it depended on residents’ behaviour this weekend. “If we see large gatherings in places, that will concern us greatly and we’ll have to rethink,” she said. Dr Young also issued a warning to Queenslanders thinking about crossing the state border. “If they cross the border, and it isn’t for an essential purpose, then they’ll have difficulty coming back. Crossing the border hasn’t changed - all of these requirements haven’t changed.” Image: News Corp Australia
